WAITLISTS ARE TURNED ON

Registration for the 2024 Winter Season has officially closed and the waitlists have been turned on. For some divisions (B1, B2, B3, G2/3) the waitlists are already quite long and it's unlikely we will get everyone placed on teams due to limited court space.

However, there are some divisions where we would encourage you to get on the waitlist as we could still use some additional players. So if you have interest please sign up. You won't be asked to pay unless we are able to place you on a team.

Important Season Dates for Winter 2024

September 30 - Registration Closes. You can still complete the registration by clicking here, but will be added to a wait list while we finalize the list of teams and players. Note - if you're on the wait list, please hold tight. Our commissioners are trying to see what we can do but we can't guarantee spots will open up. We open up spots to players in the order they were registered.

October 14 & 21 - Player Evaluation Day & Makeup Day at the Hermosa Valley School Gym (For registered players only. Please don't come if you're still on the wait list on Eval Day.) Note - evaluation day is strongly encouraged because it allows us to create fair and fun teams. We understand that sometimes people can't make either day but we can't accommodate evaluations outside of these two days. Please don't email us if your child can't attend either evaluation day. We will reach out after evaluations if we need information about your child's prior experience and/or skill level. Thank you.

Sat. 10/14 - Main Day
- 10 to 11 AM: Boys Kinder, Boys 2nd grade, Boys 4th grade & Boys 5th grade
- 11:30 to 12:30 PM: Boys 1st grade, Boys 3rd grade, Boys 6th grade, Boys 7th & 8th grades
- 1 - 2 PM: all Girls Divisions
Sat. 10/21 - Makeup Day
- 10 - 10:30 AM: Boys Kinder, Boys 2nd grade, Boys 4th grade & Boys 5th grade
- 11 - 11:30 AM: Boys 1st grade, Boys 3rd grade, Boys 6th grade, Boys 7th & 8th grades
- 12 - 12:30 PM: All Girls Divisions

December - Teams Assigned & Practices Can Start

January 6 - 1st Games Start

~3rd Week of March - Playoffs & All-Stars (certain Divisions only)

End of March - Season Ends

2024 SEASON INFO

Practices: Teams are permitted only one 60-minute practice per week. Practice times are set by Coaches. The League does our best to assist with practice courts in Hermosa but we have to work within the availability given to us by the City.

Games: Generally, teams have one regular season game per week. Games are held in the Hermosa Beach Community Center and Hermosa Valley School gym. Final schedules are set in December after teams are drafted. However, younger Boys divisions (2nd and under) usually play on Saturdays while younger Girls divisions usually play on Sundays. Other division schedules are more variable based on the number of teams and players.

Player Evaluations: Evals are mandatory for registered players. Please don't come if you're still on the wait list. Dates are above.

Cost: $200 for your first player; $175 for each additional sibling. The registration system requires that both children be registered at the same time in order to receive the sibling discount.

Refunds: Registration is generally nonrefundable. However, we try to accommodate refunds before teams are set. Once teams are set, you are locked in and will not receive a refund even if your child cannot participate. Issuing refunds is an administrative burden for our all-volunteer board so please please don't register if you're not sure that your child can play.

Rules: Our 2023 Rules are posted here for your reference. These are subject to change and we'll be posting the 2024 Rules as we get closer to the Season.
